Most of us will admit to telling the occasional little white lie. But in reality, more than one in three of us tell at least one lie every day. And it turns out that the more women lie, the more they lie.
One study found that a shocking four out of five women lie on a daily basis. Some women lie as many as 30 times a day. That compares to two out of five men who said they tend to lie every day.
Fortunately, the situation is not as bleak as the statistics imply. People said they avoid telling the truth mainly to avoid hurting other people's feelings. The biggest reason for lying was “to make someone feel better” (55%). Next was “to stay out of trouble” (32%), and one in four said it was because “life is complicated.” To prove a point” and ‘to save face’ were also common reasons for avoiding the truth.
To inform young people, I tell the news like rap music - Joshua Gapsiso0:00 / 0:00 In a poll commissioned by the insurance company Privilege, about 2,000 people were questioned. Advertising researchers found a common theme in people's lies. When invited to a dinner party, no one likes to leave food behind.
And saying that they enjoyed their friends' or relatives' food was the number one reason for lying when they might not have done so (42%). They also often lie about their job, salary, and weight. We also sometimes pretend to share hobbies with the person we are trying to impress.
Fortunately, however, most of our lies are relatively harmless. About 80% of people say they only tell lies that don't hurt someone badly, but one in ten say they have hurt someone close to them with a small lie.
The survey also revealed that the most popular place to lie is at home. This is followed by “work and job interviews” and “social media. However, the most common places to tell the truth are the courtroom and the doctor's operating room. As for who we are most likely to lie to, friends (30%) top the list, followed closely by work colleagues and partners (about one in four), and children.
Interestingly, we are most likely to lie in middle age rather than when we are younger, and the average age of those who admitted to lying regularly was 46.“”Encouragingly,” said Privilege's Dan Simson, ”we may tell the odd lie, but overall, when it matters.
The results showed that we are more likely to tell the truth when it matters,” he said. White wine may unleash the monster in us all. What better way to party than with a glass of well-chilled Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Grigio, or Chardonnay?
Unfortunately, after a couple of glasses of white wine, we start to go a little crazy. According to medical expert Dr. Rosalind Hare: “White wine often unleashes a monster in us and we lose all control. After a few glasses, we start to act completely out of character. One of them told me that after drinking too much Lady Gasoline named Pinot Grigio, he approached a police officer and asked him to hold his hand pistol.
The other confessed that he stopped drinking white wine because it made him aggressive. Another told me that he became emotional, crying at sad songs and confessing his undying love to his ex-boyfriend. He said, “This beast doesn't come out of drinking beer, red wine, or spirits. It is only white wine that makes them go wild. The first problem is that if you drink cold white wine on a hot day, you drink too much and get drunk very quickly. On top of that, if you are drinking something like Prosecco, the bubbling carbon dioxide bubbles cause the alcohol to enter the bloodstream faster than with other alcoholic beverages.
Furthermore, Prosecco often tastes so sweet that you forget about the higher alcohol content of Pinot or Sauvignon. You might think you drank as much as your lager guzzling partner, but white wine is much stronger than beer.
So if you match him on booze, you will be drinking far more than he will. In percentage terms, white wine is about 10-14%, twice to three times as much as beer. White wine is sweeter and easier to drink, which is why white wine will make you drunk sooner. But that's not all.
Interestingly, those who have been Grigio Gremlins in the past are more likely to become Gremlins in the future. January 15, 1966: A Morning of Murder, Mayhem, and Carnage Dr. Hare continued: “The memory of a bad experience with one drink may affect your state the next time you drink.
In other words, if you were a white wine monster, you may be one again. But is there some special ingredient in white wine? Not so, says Dr. Hare. She says the white wine monster is because it is drinking too much of a high alcohol content drink. I am not convinced that there is sufficient scientific evidence that white wine evokes the inner monster more than any other alcohol. ......”
She says. I'm worried about unleashing my inner white wine monster at the next party. If so, remember to pace yourself and follow these three tips: For every glass of wine, drink a glass of water. Eat a decent meal before you go out and replace your usual alcoholic beverage with a low-alcohol or alcohol-free white wine.
